On November 24, 2016, the House of Light on the Hill, d to the Fraternidade – International Humanitarian Federation, had a day of volunteer group services. In the central headquarters of the institution, in Carmo da Cachoeira, Minas Gerais, Brazil, were conducted services of health, spiritual and harmonization of external areas, the last one a t activity with the Community-of-Light of Figueira. On the same day, the philanthropic institution promoted a group service of health in a house of social service in Campo Belo, Minas Gerais.
During the group service developed at the headquarters, 21 therapeutic services were rendered, plus 7 clinical consultations and 3 psychiatric consultations. The assistance was done by one doctor, two therapists and four assistants.
The service of spiritual consisted in fraternal presence provided to 12 people, including collaborators and internees of the house of convalescence, conducted by Mother María Salvadora, the coordinator-general of the House of Light on the Hill, and two monks of the Grace Mercy Order.
In the external area of the House of Light on the Hill, some 20 volunteers did the harmonization of gardens, preparation of seedbeds in the vegetable garden and cleaning around the buildings of the new sector of Healing.
In the meantime, in Campo Belo, 84 kilometers from Carmo da Cachoeira, an ecumenical therapeutic group service took place in the house of services of the Spiritist Fraternity Sister Clara. Two doctors, two therapists, two assistants and one nun of the Grace Mercy Order collaborated. The most frequent cases were anguish, stress, depression, hypertension and pain in different parts of the body.
Since the beginning of its activities, in mid-October of 2016, the new unit of Healing and Reception of the House of Light on the Hill has rendered the following services: 211 medical treatments, 375 therapeutic treatments, 153 instances of fraternal presence and 35 lodgings in the house of convalescence.
Spiritual task
In a lecture offered on November 24, 2013, the spiritualistic philosopher José Trigueirinho Netto, mentor of the Community-of-Light of Figueira and of the House of Light on the Hill, explained that the volunteer group services fostered by both communities constitute an opportunity of broadening of consciousness and of spiritual growth, to the extent that the participants are open in heart, concentrated and without limiting themselves to material results.
